E-Dialog Takes First Magill FFL Championship

After looking in mid-season like they might not even make the playoffs, e-Dialog’s e-D’s TDs came back to win their division and beat Harte-Hanks Heroes by a score of 142.46 to 110.22 to take the first Magill Report Fantasy Football League championship.

As a result, e-Dialog will receive the much-coveted Magill Report FFL engraved crystal championship trophy and an almost-regulation-sized, football-shaped sweet summer sausage from Dietrich’s Meats & Country Store in Krumsville, PA (Yum!).

Both the trophy and the football sausage have been ordered and should be arriving at The Magill Report World Headquarters in New York’s Hudson Valley any day now.

Along with the sausage football, a tub of scrapple has been ordered for the commissioner, and some pig snouts and cow femur bones have been ordered for The Magill Report’s trusty mascots, Labradoodles Willy and Woody.

If you don’t know what scrapple is, you have lived a truly deprived life. But your life will probably be longer—or at least less heart-attack prone—than mine.

And if pig snouts gross you out, you’re not a dog.

e-Dialog’s award presentation is tentatively scheduled for Friday, January 14.

Meanwhile, after a season in which they looked unstoppable, Return Path placed third in the Magill FFL by beating the TowerData Techies 124.56 to 117.94 in a consolation game.

Return Path’s fantasy football team manager Larry Karipides has vowed to come back next year and exact revenge for getting unexpectedly knocked out of the playoffs.

All in all, 2010 was an exciting season for the Magill FFL. The moves the various managers made during the season indicated the companies involved put some serious managerial talent in charge of their teams.

As I said to my wife on numerous occasions: “I wouldn’t want to play in this league. These people are scary.”

Here’s to hoping everyone comes back to play in next year’s league. I will send out invitations when the time comes.

Ken - thanks for putting on the league, it was a lot of fun. Even better than competing in this league all fall is the look on co-worker's faces when I try to explain that we've won, of all things, a sausage shaped like a football. The office is abuzz!
