ExactTarget Apparently on a Tear

Shhh. Don’t tell ExactTarget the economy still stinks.

The marketing services provider known mainly for email today announced it posted a 40-percent boost in revenue for the third quarter of 2010 over the same quarter last year.

The announcement comes one week after ExactTarget announced it plans to double the number of people working in its Indianapolis headquarters by adding up to 500 people by 2015. The company also said it would invest $45 million in technology and infrastructure for its Indianapolis operations.

ExactTarget CEO Scott Dorsey said the expansion comes as the company moves into new markets across the country and around the world.

The company has expanded into London, Australia and San Francisco this year.

According to ExactTarget, the third quarter of 2010 marks the 39th consecutive quarter of growth for the firm.
